Purchasing a Home Outside of Toronto - If you a purchasing a home outside of Toronto, you will have to pay Ontario's Land Transfer Tax. If you are a first time buyer, this amount will be reduced by maximum of $2000.00 on closing.

 

Purchasing a Home in Toronto - If you are purchasing a home in Toronto, you will have to pay Toronto’s Municipal Land Transfer Tax in addition to Ontario's Land Transfer Tax. If you are a first time buyer, Toronto’s Municipal Land Transfer Tax will be reduced by a maximum of $3,725.00 and the Ontario Land Transfer Tax will be reduced by maximum of $2000.00 on closing.
